Pro-Life Super Bowl Ad Sparks Controversy
I had a different post ready to put up until I watched Bill O’Reilly last night. He did a segment on a Super Bowl ad (as yet unseen) paid for by Focus on the Family. This 30-second ad tells some of the story of Pam Tebow’s difficult pregnancy with Tim. When given advice to abort her son, she chose to have her baby. Today, we know the rest of the story.
Ms. Jehmu Green of the Women’s Media Center appeared on O’Reilly during the segment. She is organizing an effort to push CBS to pull the ad. When asked why the ad was offensive she replied (it was) “Thinly veiled attempt to undermine a woman’s right to make decisions about her reproductive decisions.” Later in the piece she indicated she viewed the ad as “taking the choice away”. An ad cannot take away any woman’s freedom to choose. I guess they believe women are so weak that a TV ad will brainwash them and prevent them from seeking an abortion. Pathetic! They can’t even build a sound, logical argument for their position. All they can do is whine.
If that’s the best spokesperson and message the NOW and Pro-Choice lobby have then we (Pro-Life) should be kicking their derrieres seven ways to Sunday. They are pathetic. An ad celebrating a positive choice at best will encourage women in difficult situations to have their babies. Who knows they might have the next Tim Tebow.
Tim and Pam Tebow – Thank you sharing your story. Thank you for standing up for what you believe is right. It takes a lot of courage to do so.
CBS, if you’re listening…air the ad. The NOW and related organizations can’t hurt you.
I have yet to find a Pro-Life petition site to encourage CBS to air the ad. If you know of one, please share. If you can tell me how to build one, I’ll happily do so. Or feel free to add your comments to this blog and let that be a petition. Let’s not let these sad, narrow-minded, Pro-Choice people win!
